Well- it has been an interesting week. We said goodbye to Sparkle, and then had a HUGE party :). (Actually- I was a little sad much to my own surprise. I mostly probably am sad for my friend Rebecca who is now her proud owner. She has actually been much better for them already than she was for us in 15 months. Go figure. Thanks Beck for taking her in!!)
The deal with Ashlee was if we could give Sparkle away, she could get a new dog with our guidance. It had to be a SMART dog that was good with kids and had already been potty trained. No exceptions.
So- Scott was at work for a couple days, and I stupidly took the dog hunting task on without him thinking I could do it without his help. Not a good idea. We went to the Humane Society, and spent a long 3 hours there. Ashlee found "Lyric" who she decided to name "Cocoa" instead. It seemed like a good dog- we played with it for about an hour, and then introduced Harley, and they did really well. The previous owners lost their home and became homeless and had to give the dog up, which made me feel so bad! Anyway- we took him home. He was an angel at home, played great with everyone, slept well, no barking, no potty accidents, everything was perfect. And then he BIT Rilee! Not good.
Say goodbye to Cocoa. Rilee is ok minus a few nasty cuts and a few frightening moments. She is very brave. I was very upset my picking skills were pretty- well- horrible. After Rilee was ok, I felt even worse when I found out what the Animal shelter was going to do to Cocoa. Ok- I was histarical. Enough said.
After all of that- Rilee, Kyller, and I were done with the Doggie search, but Ashlee and Scott were ready to go looking again. And then they came home. With "Fluffy" (Ashlee has a certain knack for naming her dogs- doesn't she?) Best moment of the whole week? When my cute little 8 year old waltzes into the house with THE UGLIEST DOG THAT EVER HIT THE PLANET. I was laughing SO hard I had tears streaming down my face. And Fluffy she is not. How about Wirery? Yes. Keep in mind- these pictures of Fluffy are after she had a bath. This is when she is all neat and clean. The good news is she is exactly what Ashlee needed. The best companion she has had. No barking, no accidents, no biting, and she follows her everywhere. It is so cute. Come meet Fluffy when you can- and try not to laugh :)!

You guys are such nice parents. According to Avery, Ryan and I are the meanest parents in the world because we won't let her have a pet. She keeps asking when she's going to have a dog of her own. Most likely, not anytime soon. In Ryan's world that means never. She also tells people she has a cat, but that I was mean and took it away from her. She says I took it to Pet's Mart of all place and that I won't take her there to get the cat back.
Ouch! Sorry about the hand, Rilee! That looks like it hurt. :(
Fluffy....Oh, bless you for taking in such a beautiful dog. I bet Ashlee is just thrilled.
Oh! Come on -- that dog is cute! Glad cute Ashlee is happy as a clam :)
I think Wirey is cute too... I mean Fluffy.
I think Fluffy is the best possible name for that dog. Entirely fitting.
Fluffy is actually super cute! I think she's one of those dogs that is so homely that she's adorable. Good luck!!! :)
Oh my gosh, this story was hilarious! I'm so glad for the happy ending. Little Fluffy is lucky to have so more love. Hope you're ok, Rilee. Matthew got bit by his Grandpa John's dog when he was 2 and had to have stitches. I'm afraid that dog met the same fate as Cocoa. (Except he deserved it...he was a mean dog...always growling).
I don't know why it shows me as "anonymous" above...this is Aunt Ellie.
