In about 12 hours I will be in Palm Springs hopefully enjoying the weather and the water. Of course- none of my solo trips are without out meetings discussing all things chicken, but still... at least I will be within reach of the beach even if I am without the time to make it there. I think it keeps me sane when I am traveling without the kids and Scott. I have been especially thankful for my job lately. With the economy doing all kinds of nasty things to everyone around us, how blessed I feel to not only have a job, but one that I love. We had a fundrasing night at my store this week for a young mother with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She has a 4 month old and a 2 year old, and the prognoses is grim at best. I am so grateful to have met her (Julie Neff) and her husband and sweet family. Her bravery was overwhelming to me and quickly got me to get a grip on reality with the things that were causing me stress this week. They are a couple who deals through laughter, even with her husband proudly sporting his bright pink shirt that read "My wife has killer boobs." Funny and horrible all at the same time, but this is how they are getting through. I am grateful to have a business that has been a vehicle to helping others. I am not sure I would be happy doing anything else.

Yeah, you blogged! Logan and I are in CA now, we could come meet you in palm springs! That is one of my very fav places to go on vacation, I can sit by the pool all day long (oh wait, I have a kid this time. I don't usually "sit" and relax near anything!). Have fun!
You are one of the most generous people I know, Beck. You do great things with chicken! I love you. Have fun in California!
Have fun in Cali! It's always good to meet people who are going through rough times - it really makes you appreciate the things in your life.
Wow, young and breast cancer. That is so sad. I'm so glad you have been able to assist families and causes through your employment. What a blessing. You have a wonderful husband and children. They are a great support to you and they are so proud of you and all you do.
Love ya,
Randa
Beck,
I hadn't signed on to your blog for some time, and thoroughly enjoyed reading it and looking at all the wonderful photos. I'm afraid my blog is sorely behind - what is my excuse? Keep on truckin - you're such a great person!
Love,
Nancy
